In light of the upcoming global March Against Monsanto, I offer the etymology lesson for the day: Monsanto.
Monsanto is a biotech company that makes many claims.
But what does the name actually mean?
Mon = One
Think Monophone, Monologue, Monopoly.
Santo = Saint
Now hold on a minute! Monsanto is the one saint?
Call me a conspiracy theorist, or a linguist. Either way, Monsanto still looks like the Antichrist.
